The Farm
Nestled in the picturesque Western Catskills, Stony Creek Farmstead invites you to embrace the tranquility of rural life.
The farmstead boasts expansive fields where our contented cattle graze. A creek meanders through the farm, providing a soothing soundtrack to your visit. Enchanted forests beckon you to explore the wild spaces and animals.
Come hang out with a herd of Belted Galloway Cows, flock of sheep, team of heritage breed pigs, flocks of chickens and ducks, barn cats and four farm dogs! Discover the veggie garden, harvest fresh herbs, and collect eggs from the guest chicken coop.
Just 2.5 hours from the George Washington Bridge, you'll be here in time to settle in and take a stroll around the farm.
Our Story
We began farming 19 years ago. A young couple with a toddler and no roof over our heads, but lots of muscle and big ideas. Dan built our house while Kate began the gardens. Dan renovated the barns. Kate homeschooled, Lucia and Isaac. Dan designed and built the farm stay. Kate began leading kids workshops.
Now the farm is home to beef cows, sheep, pigs, and innumerable chickens and ducks. Livestock guard dogs, Rey and Daisy, beg for love during the day, then protect the livestock at night. An acre of organic fruits and vegetables feeds our family and guests all season long.
It is a privilege to share the farm and all its wild spaces with our guests and local community. We love how the magic of the natural world enchants children, teens, and adults alike.
